Battlefield 3 is a military first-person shooter developed by DICE and published by Electronic Arts. Daniel Recker of the United States Marine Corps Third Special Forces Group out of Fort Toulouse in August 25 2011 with the US in a full scale war with Russia over its invasion in Iran.His squad is deployed to Tashgar, where Recker assists in destroying enemy vehicles and covering his team's extraction before they are ambushed by Russian ground troops led by Dimitri Mayakovsky. Recker fights against the Russians alongside his squad until they are finally able to defeat Mayakovsky and return to their own forces. Recker is then sent to the city of Maysan, where he continues to fight Russian Troops, before Mustafa Al-Ghul, one of three sons of the leader of the League of Assassins who is notorious for killing millions in failed assassinations, kidnaps him. Recker escapes along with his squad and they are sent to Tehran where they are deployed on a mission along with Sergeant "Bull" McCabe's squad. Recker's squad is subsequently transported by helicopter to a mountain range outside Tehran where they must storm an enemy base. After infiltrating the base, Recker's team finds Al-Ghul and fight through his minions to keep him alive long enough for extraction, but he is killed in their crossfire. After returning to base, Recker is knocked out by American CIA agent Kaffarov while his squad moves to an evac.The game then moves two years into the future where Sgt. Recker is part of a joint U.S./Russian assault against an Iranian nuclear facility in Baku, Azerbaijan which has just come under attack by Russian forces aiming to destroy it before it can be used by Iran against Russia or NATO if they get there first. During the attack, Sgt. Recker is faced with the choice of either evacuating or fighting against his unit's unit sergeant. After choosing to fight, Sgt. Recker is sent on a mission to protect a nuclear scientist from being assassinated in an effort to stop Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, where he is ultimately confronted by his superior Lt.
